I just wanted to thank you for the Job you did on Tuesday. The wood Installation and shoe molding work is very nice. Its nice and clean. I appriciate all the work you did for me. As an architect, any major change to my home reflects on my professionalism. So when it was time to really express myself by removing tired wall to wall carpet and ceramic tiles, the choice of flooring replacement was critical. Wood was the immediate solution, but I wanted to carry the same surface throughout the entire apartment, including the kitchen and bath. Teak was the obvious choice for its hardness and water resistance. I had no trouble finding the teak I wanted, but finding the right installer was another story...
Luckily, my neighbor had recently installed new wood floors in her place across the way. She was highly impressed with Carlos and his crew from Genesis, and when I saw her results, so was I. So I called Carlos, he came over, we talked. He gave me a very good installation price, which included all the floor demolition work and removals. He also suggested a different variety of teak than the one I had decided on, and left me a sample I fell in love with.
Then came installation day... I have to say, these guys were the greatest. They worked fast and knew their stuff. They made decisions as they worked that made my floor into a work of art. And Carlos and I developed a great design rapport. I'm glad I caved in to his desire to use 3" rather than 2" baseboards, the proportions are really what's right for the space. And accepting and appreciating a last minute decision to stain the baseboards ebony really reflects a respect for the materials that most installers do not have. But Carlos and the Genesis crew are not just installers... they are really craftsmen who enjoy their work and the artistry they bring to it. I would highly recommend them for any project, but especially with a high end wood like teak. Unfortunately, I won't ever need to use them again, since my floor will last forever and the finish has a 25 year warranty! But if I did have the opportunity, I certainly would.
